FILM SUBMISSIONS

Submissions are open for the 2026 program, please follow the instructions below to submit your film.

Authorized use of screeners & Format

All films must be submitted with a screening link & be password-protected, or watermarked. We prefer Vimeo links or similar protected formats that can be shared with our Film Committee.

Eligibility

All films (incl features, short films and documentaries) must reflect the South African people, their stories, &/or their culture and art.

Selection

• Any film submitted to SAFF can be used in any exhibition format that pertains to the festival, both in-cinema and online, geo-blocked for Canada and the United States
• Successful filmmakers will receive a confirmation email to upload film & publicity materials.
